Kuznetsov to win through the second round of the Brisbane International
on Tuesday .In
his first match of the ATP main draw since early July , South
African-born Ebden based in Western Australia struck lucky loser
Kuznetsov 6-3, 6-4 in just 72 minutes.The 26- year-old has secured a hard workout in the second round - he booked a clash with second seed Kei Nishikori of Japan .Ebden
was one of the big movers in the rankings in 2013 after a successful
career in the second tier Challenger level cut ranking 153rd to 68th ,
about his personal record of 61 .He
is already guaranteed an open main draw of Australia with teammates
Davis Cup Bernard Tomic , Lleyton Hewitt and Marinko Matosevic place .But
the Brisbane International scored his first ATP main draw showing in
six months due to its passage through the Challenger circuit.Not that it showed on Tuesday .Ebden
had to take Australian partner , Nick Kyrgios tennis prodigy in the
first round before age 18 , retired on Monday night with a shoulder
injury .The young Australian top-ranked this year , Kyrgios still hopes to play in the Australia Open .Ebden had no mercy on his replacement, Ukrainian-born Kuznetsov - rated 74 places lower in the world rankings .The Australian broke in the third game before claiming the first set in 36 minutes .Broke in the first game of the second set , only to immediately drop their service to the fiery 26-year- old American .Kuznetsov
broke again in the sixth game to lead 4-2 Ebden rattled off the next
four games to seal an impressive victory center track.
